I Believe This Is My First Day Ever Visiting This Website, to My Recollection Anyway. I Have Always Had Love and Adoration For Postage Stamps and Typography.

I Currently Have a Small Foreign Stamp Collection (1900s - 1950s) That I Have Had Since High School. Countries I Have the Most Stamps of Is Belgie, Danmark, Deutches Reich, Deutsche Post, Magyar Posta, Rep de San Marino, Nederland, Osterreich Porto and Only A Single Stamp of Trinidad and Tobago, Suid Afrika, Te Betalen, Romania, Indonesia, Cuba and Baden.

I Have so Few Asian Stamps, and Have Been Wanting to Start Adding to What I Now Have, with Special Interest in Japanese Stamps.

I Hope to Gain / Impart the Little Knowledge I Do Have on Collecting. I Am Very Glad to Be Here and Have an Undying Thirst For Knowledge.

Oh Yeah, and One Last Thing...I Am Known to Have "Mary Poppins Bag" Tendencies, Meaning An Endless Supply of Questions to Ask. When Given An Answer It May Lend a Hand in Me Coming Up with Another Question but I Will Try to Keep It to a Minimum. HahaHehe My Mother Used to Have to Attend All My Field Trips in Grade School Due to Me Talking to Much. But What It Really Was Because They Found Themselves Not Being Able to Answer Many of the Questions I Had Asked and They Thought It Looked Poorly Upon Themselves Causing Frustration.

But That Is only and Solely My Opinion.

"Te Betalen" may be Dutch (Nederland) stamps or stamps issued by one of its colonies (the colour identifies which). Porto are similar stamps issued by some country.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.
