I collect China Airmails ,it is one of the few areas I enjoy the designs . I believe yours is faded or wash out .

Just for fun,
You may wish to call "changes in price" as "Surcharges" or "surcharged"

Your bottom right hand stamp is Manchukuo (Manchuria)
It shows a locally handstamp issue in an ideogram
"Republic of China", "China Postal Service" or "temporary use for China"
Many of these local issues were also surcharged.

@rod222: Thanks for pointing that out!
I did not notice that the bottom right hand stamp was Manchukuo (Manchuria)
I used to have a much larger collection of stamps from Manchukuo, but most them were destroyed around 1966~1967 (the beginning of "cultural revolution") due to political incorrectness (along with stamps of Republic of China with imagines of Chiang Kai-shek

in some of my stamps, the ideograms read "postage paid for letter mailing to Japan" or "postage paid for postcard mailing to Japan", along with the surcharges.
Can anyone help me with the history of such ideograms, such as, why there were special postages for Japan at that time?

Possibly compared to collecting, grains of sand on the beach.
There are a staggering amounts of differing overprints.
