So I just received by first Vario binder and slipcase, and a few different kinds of Vario sheets to get started for the beginning's of my stamp collection. The product looked very good, and I was anxious to start putting some of my first stamp purchases into the sheets, but I found that I was having a little difficulty. The pockets just seem really tight to me against the black backing sheet, and although you can pull the pocket out a bit, inserting the stamps with tongs, in this first case it was an airmail booklet pane, it seemed hard to push the pane down all the way to the plastic weld strip at the bottom of the pocket, it was just that tight. I eventually got it down, but I had to keep grabbing the pane in different places and working it down from one side to the other. It's even worse when you put the stamps in near the edge of the sheet where you have a vertical weld also, makes it even tighter. Bottom line, I was actually afraid of damaging the panes getting them into the pocket. Then I tried putting a couple whole panes of 20 stamps into their respective sheet, and the same issue occured. It was just so darn tight working them down completely into the sheet. Granted, one of the panes was nearly as wide as the pocket with only about a 1/4" to spare on either side, but the other was narrower, and that one did go in a bit easier, but not real easy. Is this normal procedure when using the Vario sheets, or am I doing something wrong?

I usually gently bend the Vario so that the face of the sheet is slightly concave which relieves the pressure. The conundrum is that you want the sheet to securely hold your stamps, but you also want to insert your stamps without damaging them. The Vario is about in the sweet spot for me.

The stamps definitely won't be moving around inside those pockets, which is a good thing. I'm sure I'll get more comfortable with it as time goes on. They are very nice looking sheets, and they have a good reputation among collectors, that's why I went with them. Another thing I forgot to mention, but I have seen others comment about, is the way the static in those sheets seem to attract dust and other tiny particles so easily. I guess the way you minimize it is making sure you don't eat shelled peanuts while working on your stamps, among other such things, lol.

The Vario pages I have do not really hold the stamp as tight as the Hagners but I have had bad luck with Hagners over time (the plastic detaches from backing),
