Howdy guys, I was wondering if anyone can identify and value these stamps? They are the Scott collection international stamps. They are unopened and am wondering if they are rAndom inside or part of series. I have a and b of series1. Thanks!

I may be mistaken, but it looks like there are still price tags on some (all?) of the packets. These would tell you what they sold for. Unlikely you could get that for them, however.

These packs are usually filled with very low value stamps as well as CTO* stamps. I doubt they are worth much unfortunately. They are a great introductory pack for young hobbyists who usually can't afford to buy the more expensive sets.

*If you look at one of the blue colored packs with space themed stamps you'll notice a stamp from the Trucial State of Fujeira. These stamps were printed directly with the cancellation mark (cancel to order) and were sold as cancelled stamps to collectors directly. They were never used to send mail. These stamps are usually sold by the kilo and not by the sheet or individual stamp.

Newbie69,

Enjoy having fun with stamps! That is the name of this game.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
