"If you only print pages after you buy the stamps to fill that page . Your album ,will always be complete and full ,let me say that again to drive this point into your head"
That sounds like a great way to collect. I'm 100% different. I love having the pages be as nearly complete as possible, so I frequently print or buy pages that I have no expectation of ever filling up.
People are different, but I personally love the sense of how much more there still is to be filled in. |

SNOPES ---- Every collectors decides for themself's . I enjoy having many different different ways I keep my collection . I maintain a separate binder or folder for each country , then have speciality material on a separate shelve . |

I printed pages for the country I wanted to work on up to 1970 and put them in a binder. If I come across newer stamps or other items for that country I print just the pages I need. I Don't seek out those bonus stamps. I like having the albums and just grabbing them to add stamps vs printing every time. I guess it is the hole filling approach from when I started as a kid.
It is interesting to see a sense of completion and place although motivating to not have mostly blank pages. |

The Dominican Republic early issues #1-31, are some very tough issues to find.
Sound with 4 margins?
I seldom see these even offered. And when offered individually, with 4 margins and sound they bring high prices compared to Scott catalog value. At least I have not been able to get any. Those I have seen come up in the few auctions I look at, bring close to full catalog with fees (commissions, shipping, sales tax if applicable).
I only have 2 in this series, and bought them from the APS sales division when they had it. |

floortrader,
Some nice pages recently, especially the two Minkus pages for Monaco. Love seeing the dues alongside their regular issue siblings.
What is your process for selecting the next country to work on? Do you simply process new items as you acquire them or is there some other method you've developed over the years?

Statesman Stamper ----- There are many worldwide stamp collectors , I wanted to have something different .
So I didn't want a few high price gems to showcase my collection . I decided to go a different route . First was to get a good run of countries most collectors show weakness with . Then to get hard to find stamps that was missing in most collections and get those complete sets that rarely show up . This is what keeps me active as a worldwide collector .

Ok, floortrader, I'm in. Been following for a long time. Thanks for the motivation, my wallet does not thank you though. :) I predominantly collect US but this thread opened some new interests up. I enjoyed learning about the process and decisions made. Thanks for sharing. Testing the waters with some Steiner pages. From Chicago- Eric |

Nice pages ,looks good .
This collecting method of filling pages and showing it is a fun way to enter the hobby and reduces the vast amount of blank pages most collectors experience . It doesn't matter what your stamp budget is ,I did pages for $2.00 per set purchases and did it for expensive stamps .There is a lot of flexiablity to use blank pages for item that are not in standard catalogs . |
