Pushing 330,000 All Different Worldwide Stamps In One Collection .

I haven't seen a price realized for auction 796. Did that lot sell? The estimate was 100-150K Then there was lot 2855 that had 70,000 items that didn't fit in 102 cards...

LANDOQUAKES---- The Kelleher Auction {K.A.} 796 will be at the end of this month . The two big lots from Kelleher with the A&D inventory was auction 793 ,it had lots 2854 which was the red boxes and 2855 which was the better material above $50.00 catalog in dealer books . lot 2854 sold for $85,000 and lot 2855 sold for $40,000 . that was in Dec 12-13 of 2023 .

I said in a earlier post here ,a lot of good material was pulled and sold by K.A. as seperate lots and it was those pulled lots that I was buying at auction . The way they were presented was my guess they owned those lots .

Kudos floortader for picking up some of the better items. Wonder who got all those red boxes... and why? The largest stock that we see from a dealer here in Minnesota is Stamp Art https://stampart.us/ Their booth is so busy at the Expo the first day chairs are hard to come by!

"who got all those red boxes " I have not heard who got them ,but who ever can only sell them at stamp shows . Is there another way to sell them ? 576 boxes X 600 cards per box = minmium of 345,600 stamps ,maybe as much as 400,000 stamps . Their cost was about $105,000.00 for the purchase at auction ,that amount of money was just in labor of catalog time and writing up the cards never mind the cost of supplies .

nice mounting of stamps. How do you choose black mounts vs hinge in these cases? Both look good.

I know you don't like blowing money on albums, but your Commonwealth stamps really do deserve Gibbons Commonwealth albums, not Steiner!

Green Dragon ---- I only use mounts for Mint Never Hinged , I never in 65 years purchased mounts , I just recycle them ,use a glue stick so I don't have to lick them .

GeoffHa---- I grew up with Scott Catalogs , as my collection grew the Scott Speciality Album were both too expensive ,my first album was Italy and cost $35.00 ,over the years prices jumped ,I believe now it is $200.00 . Second reason was weight on a book shevel , my stamp room was on the second floor and 5 bookcases was too much .
With Steiner pages I can buy a binder and print pages for $10.00 or less . So a few hundred albums is not out of the question

This means that the stampdragons is going to the poor house on supplies. I have black mounts, clear mounts, hawid mounts, hingeless albums etc..... I have Mountitus disease

Floortrader - understood, of course - it's just that, unlike most, your stamps are actually good enough to justify the SG prices! I love those Malaysian issues - while it's a common design across the states, you get variation from the images of the different rulers, and the colours are really vibrant. Popular area too. Almost all of the swaps I've put in ebay have gone to Malaysia or China.

Each Worldwide collector ,has certain areas of their collection that they spend more money on and it becomes the strongest part of their collection . This is not unusal ,you see this a lot when stamp auction houses describe the collection .

My interest recently been to fill in those lesser known countries ,here is a sample of a set rarely seen in general worldwide collections . This is from my Cyrenaica album .

Having seen all the different auction lots for the huge inventory from A & D Stamps you have to wonder if that was the largest holding of stamps ever held by one person .Still wondering who purchased those 576 red boxes and what they plan to do with it .

The stamps that I am buying are part of the cream or maybe the top 5% of that huge inventory . How much STILL has to come on the market .will be yet to be seen .

What we seen so far is the whole pallet of stamp supplies at auction ,we seen the show inventory of red boxes {the 576 boxes } sold for $115,000 and the dealer stockbooks at $48,000 and maybe another $150,000 gone up as better items in various auctions ,then what is held back that I don't know ? My wild guess is another $150,000 . Remember I don't watch any of the U.S. stuff .
