It would be hard to beat he volume of A&D, It was just fun to look through those auctions. We may see the contents of those red boxes start to show up somewhere. Wonder how many people have 115K to spend on red boxes? I shudder to think of the shipping cost. Just under 3,000 pounds.

I'm with GeofHa on this one. If you're going to collect quality material, you should spend the few extra dollars for a quality presentation. Steiner pages look cheap, because they are cheap. Nothing says, "this is a schoolboy collection" quite like the print it yourself, sparsely populated, minimalist, sans serif Steiner pages.

I am eager to learn which albums and pages I should be using for my worldwide collection . I don't have the experience of knowing what is best to keep my collection in ,maybe you can help me out here .Please be specific.

I am a specialised and not worldwide collector. I do not like the Steiner pages. That is an opinion on aesthetics.
The last thing I would think when seeing a collection mounted on Steiner pages, however, is 'schoolboy collection.' Maybe I would if they have been printed on ordinary A4 paper I use for letters to my girlfriend.

Love my Steiner Pages ,easy to remove pages and place on the scanner ,no removal of extra pages ,easy out and easy replace into the binder .

My handwriting is no longer what it used to be. I had to lay down my quill. Vellum tends to clog up my printer.

I house in all different albums. For classical Steiner - cream with black mounts. I recently discovered Steiner on Scott Specialty. Steiner pages are the most comprehensive pages out there. The best bargain out there. They are not free though. Once you include a nice binder, archival quality paper and mounts and your looking at 100 dollars.

As someone who spends way too much time & money restoring old albums and fixing pages, etc. - frankly, I probably obsess over album-related matters far more than I should relative to the rest of the hobby - I'm also not at all against Steiner pages.

True, most Steiner pages I've come across 'in the wild' are sparsely filled, which perhaps help give them a lesser reputation. But when you can print out entire countries for a handful of dollars, it's no surprise that people have no problem printing everything out, only to place a handful of stamps inside.

Would floortrader's impressive collection look even better in Scott International pages? In my opinion, yes, but the stamps stand on their own just fine here.

But you can explain two problems better than me here to new readers .
First is weight ....not mine but the keeping of all these binders in a second floor bedroom . The bookcases with binders is over 3,000 lbs maybe 2 tons .

Second is the failure of Scott Internationals to have complete sets printed on their early pages , plus the lack of having room for all the varities listed in the Scott Classic Catalog .

Always love that photo! Ferrari didn't use albums. His main way to collect was to mount multiple stamps of the same type on a single blank page and have those bound (think long and narrow) He had two rooms for his collection. One for stamps, and one for envelopes. He had boxes of stamps to work on at the top of his shelves.
These became quite dusty. In some ways he was just like the rest of us. Always on the hunt ;)

Floortrader: Fantastic collection. As to the failure of the Scott to include full sets, I agree totally. Just wondering, were the old Scott brown albums complete with all stamps accounted for?

You really do need 4 full bookcases for a full WW collection. I am finding that out the hard way. I am in the process of cutting out countries to collect deeply because of space issues.
