What Does Ebay Accept As "Proof Of Delivery"

Unfortunately I ran into one of the "shifty buyers" on ebay and had to change shipping locations due to this person.

He purchased a cover from me in May 2022 for around $70. Fast forward to October 2022 he inquires about another cover I have and asks if I've shipped the one he purchased in May.

Since the time had passed for him to go for a "item not received" I only answered his / her question regarding the cover for sale.

At this point I switched shipping to US and Canada only. Sure enough he asks what my best price is on the cover I have listed. I inform the buyer I only ship to US & Canada and he asks in a message to "mail to a different address" than what ebay has on file.

I hit him with the hard no. He purchases the cover through a different ebay account in Florida. I had raised the shipping to $8 to cover certified mail and signature confirmation so I know I'm covered on this one.

My issue is that I've now eliminated a lot of potential buyers. The cover was from Honduras and so was the buyer. Is there a shipping method available to Honduras that ebay will accept as "proof of delivery"?

Normal USPS tracking on 1st class international parcels will qualify as proof of delivery... as long as it shows as delivered in the USPS tracking system. When it comes to international shipping you are ultimately at the mercy of the postal system of the destination country (and any countries the parcel goes through between the USA and the destination country). If it doesn't get scanned in as delivered, then it's on you.

For any international shipment, I recommend using third-party insurance. I personally use Shipsaver, which costs $1.00 per $100 of declared value, and unlike USPS insurance where you need to send Priority Mail to get insurance, 1st class international qualifies for insurance.

Be aware that the whole model of international shipping through ebay is being shaken up (in potentially a good way for sellers) with EIS replacing GSP.

Ship saver sounds interesting. I've sold 3 covers for a total of around $400 and literally have 40 - 50 more of identical covers and it's an area I don't collect.

Want to raise $5,000 by spring to rebuild motor on old Corvette so since I have all this stuff just laying around I thought I'd finance it it this way.

Also thought about selling my back of book to fund operation as well but since I have boxes of covers from outside the US I don't collect figured I'd start there.

Since I cut off Central & South America off my ship to locations, "watches" have fallen flat.

I've used " ebay International Standard Delivery" for a long time now and have had no problems. I've had a couple lost items but ebay took responsibility.

Good info. Assuming if I choose the ebay international they just charge the rate and take it off the sale price?

ebay charges my managed payment account 2 or 3 days after I print the label. The ebay service is a little cheaper than USPS. I think the 1st $100 is insured and I buy supplementary insurance for more expensive items.
