Ebay Search Is Broken

As in - no results - no category filters. ebay is dead at the moment.

Absolutely no trouble here!

Lots of people reporting the problem - it isn't just me. (Works on my phone - just the website is dead)

Just a sample:

Are you using ebay.com, or ebay.com.au? I've long had problems searching by (stamp) category on the American site, so I search almost exclusively on the German/Austrian/French/UK domains for what I need. No problems using the app, though.

ebay.com - it's working again - fortunately just an hour or so outage.

The Chinese balloon did it.

ebay search has been broken since they removed the wildcard option.

Works fine for me. Balloon must have already passed over me :)

In my opinion they are not all the same.
I am unsure how they handle their Search Servers and indexing. I think that their search indexing uses the 'countries ship to' to limit showing listings in some countries that the seller does not ship to.

Nope, not the same. Categories, organizations, and sorting are a little different on each domain, sellers and listings are definitely so. Plenty of European sellers don't list on the American site, but will ship to the USA, for example. If you're only using .au, you're missing out on a lot, depending on your interests.

I think Don is right.
I live in Thailand. If I search under ship to Thailand, I get significant less search results as when I search under ship to USA.

Also, for my Spanish Colonies revenue collection I get much better results when I search with ship to Spain instead of ship to USA..
Searching in ebay,es even gives a lot more results, but you have to communicate with many of the sellers if they are willing to ship to your country.
