These stamps have what appears to be an unfamiliar gum to me. The two in the bottom right corner on the horizontal photos and upper right on the vertical are the 50K version of 1921 and have a much more familiar sheen to them. the ones from 1919-1920 seem fo have this hairy look and less sheen. I think they just started using a new gum but would like second opinions and if anyone know about gum in Austria in the early 1900's

Thesestamps features the Parliament Building in Vienna.
They are perforated 12 1/2, are as follows.
02 K. (1919 - Mi. #284A, Sc. #219) - Vermilion & Black.
02 1/2 K. (1920 - Mi. #285A, Sc. #220) - Olive Bister.
03 K. (1919 - Mi. #286A, Sc. #221) - Blue & Black Brown.
04 K. (1919 - Mi. #287A, Sc. #222) - Carmine & Black.
05 K. (1920 - Mi. #288A, Sc. #223) - Black.
07 1/2 K. (1920 - Mi. #289A, Sc. #224) - Plum.
10 K. (1919 - Mi. #290A, Sc. #225) - Olive Green & Black Brown.
20 K. (1920 - Mi. #291A, Sc. #226) - Lilac & Red.
50 K. (1921 - Mi. #292A, Sc. #248) - Dark Violet on Yellow.

The "hair" is granite paper. The 50k of 1921 was printed on ordinary white paper.

OH! So good to know, never knew what that was. But, is that gum? I assume it is because it is shiny? Or is that a false assumption?

I guess I would ask, If you don't think it's gum, what do you imagine it to be?

Yes, that is the typical gum on Austrian stamps of that period.
