Found this looking through a collection. It looks like a NFLD 26 BUT

Here is an image with the real stamp on the left and the forgery on the right.
The forgery looks pretty good, except for the upper right hand side not completed. Different type of paper, image is shorter.
BUT the tell tale sign is the markings in the right hand margin

I have taken the printing from the top half of the stamp and mirrored it to the bottom half for more clarity.

Since the stamp has a Rectangular border how is the image possible. IT IS DEFINATELY NOT THE PLATE INSCRIPTION.

so what is it?
Could it be another stamp from? It almost looks like the top of NFLD 27

rotated horizontally for better viewing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Trodent

Wrong perf on the forgery, too, which varies in gauge as well.

That really is amazing. Most fakes are very easy to spot but these are pretty good ones. I'm attaching a 25 that I have had questions about. The design measures up a bit small but the sky/icebergs have a lot of detail. There is gum and pencil initials on the back. The stamp is darker brown than this in real life.
