Instead of writing in the Quick Reply box, look just below that and you'll see a button called "Switch to Full Reply." There are a number of formatting options available, second from the right is "Insert Quote."

Button with the red arrow. Paste what you want to quote between the bracketed "quote" and "/quote" that pops in to your reply.

There is. Old school still works.
yada yada
But as Cjd wrote "Button with red arrow"
To find that button, scroll down past the ad below my post, Above the Quick Reply box there are five topic related links, the third one is Reply to Topic,

click that and a new reply box opens.

After clicking the button with red arrow, the bracked quotes appear. click To the right of the blinking cursor. Its pretty tight.

No way of knowing if you're wrong or right without correct identification of the stamp. Regardless of what issue it is, it appears to be in terrible condition, so I'd imagine much less than even $50.

Catalogue prices are for stamps in fine to very fine condition. I.e., catalogue prices are for stamps without faults that look good and, if cancelled, have nice cancels. Centring, also, is important; more so in America than in Europe.

Prices in stamp catalogues, most of the time, are much higher than the prices paid.

As classic_paper suggests, your stamp appears to have major faults. That would make it worth much less than a stamp in 'catalogue condition.' Add to that the usual discount to catalogue prices, and the stamp may be worth only a small fraction of the catalogue price.

Condition matters.

Regarding the 3c stamp, at StampWorld the CV is 32$, and if you look at sellers, it is offered as low as 12$.

Some to full gum, and uncancelled, yes. No gum may have been used uncancelled and removed from mail, and it is actually illegal to reuse used postage. Not my suggestion and dont encourage it but many do it and get away with it.
Edit: Yes they are somewhat like currency and the face value can be used to pay todays rate. Most common smaller value face value stamps will sell for less than face in lots at auction.
