My copies of the 2r, including overprints all have the normal black scroll on the left, whilw all of the 5r have the inverted scroll. They are all on gray brown paper, none on white.

Rod, I have an imperforate version of your bear.

Great scan images BeeSee, you are becoming a legend

Your 2 rouble opt, is a type 9
indicating a hand -numbering machine
Others were in rubber stamp style.

Looks like huge inflation 1,500,000 on a 5000 rouble exists

Bogus:
the pictorial series depicting a bear, old man scenery etc
is an entirely bogus production and comes perf and imperf

Russian stamps overprinted "occupation azirbayedjan"
are a bogus issue

(not mine - web image)

Rod, you are right about the overprint types, some numbering machines and others handstamps. The one on the left appears to be a machine type, the one on the right a handstamp. Not sure if they will show clear here.

You have a big Orange and yellow colour shift on your 2R stamp [left one]. The city wall is almost inside the left panel !

Nice flags too.[one with upward red shift]
Have been busy with other stuff tonite so will scan mine tomorrow.

The difference listed in a 1960's Gibbons catalogue.

Also, I note the designers abbreviate Kopek as "Cop"

Now that I am hooked on Azerbaijan, here is Scott #29, two types, one with a much greener printed background.

I just found this sheet among my father's worldwide collection -- you've got to admire the marketing approach. I just wish there was some indication of the time frame during which they were produced.

Does anyone need to see any more of these? I can dig them out and scan them if it is useful to anyone.

For some reason, my scans are all being converted to grayscale. I'll try again tomorrow. Here is the written-up sheet I have, apparently from a French collector. He/she apparently had the year wrong.

I started new thread but figured I'd add mine to this list as well. All are on colored paper so with any luck not forgeries. General recent values?
