Just going through my Roos and found this, not sure if it is common or not.
Both die II because there is no gap in line with top of 'ONE', however on one of them there is a large piece of inner line missing.
See photos, I've attached a normal die II photo as well

Yes known variety, KR56(a) (First State)

"line" as you call it, is referred to as the inner frame.

It's a remarkable piece of philatelic research. A very real credit to the authors. It's hard to find and a bit expensive; but worth every penny, if you want to plate up all your copies.

I meant to say in my above post, this variation has a scarcity rating of 6 on a scale of 10, according to Adams, Bell and Pope.
