The fragment of a cancellation-place on this Argentine stamp looks like "....LA FLANDR...." But my sources list no city/town in Argentina with that in its name.
However, I did find a steamship named La Flandre. Was this, therefore, a shipboard postal cancellation?

The stamp was issued in 1983 (and this looks like a 1984 cancel). Do you literally mean steamship? You may want to check the service dates of the ship you found.

I'd search Villa Flandria.

You hit it,CJD! Villa Flandria is a locality in Buenos Aires. Don't know if I passed through it when I visited BA back in the last century. Thank you!
