It's never wise to let the cat update code without supervision.

Oh no, it was my dumb mistake.

For the techies...

I noticed that some pages were getting indexed twice (probably due to butchered incoming links), for example...

So I used the rewrite module to force everything to lower case. Well the sub that handles uploading didn't like that the processor had an uppercase letter in it. The file is outputFile.asp which I mistakenly rewrote as outputsile.asp. The Staff has a different output file and I remamed that one correctly. I tested it and it worked fine..... for me and Don.

Oh, the irony.

Users really don't appreciate how hard this stuff can be at times. I once spent over a week attempting to isolate an error that turned out to be a simple misspelling. I'm far more likely to screw up some easy code than I am a really difficult function. Almost always a misspelling, a missing parenthesis or bracket, or in the case of some languages, the stupid statement terminators (looking at you, Java/Javascript).

Bobby

No need to apologize. My supervisor/cat makes me take the blame for his goofs as well.

As an old, retired programmer, I can attest to PostmasterGS's remarks.

Even an experienced programmer can stare at his code for hours without seeing the problem, but the guy at the next desk can walk by, barely glance at the screen, and point out the error. Our eyes see exactly what we think is there, but do not see what is really there.

It works now after I tried again 10 hrs later when I had a chance to try again.

I did access SCF from my tablet about 4 hrs ago and got an error but refreshed and it loaded properly.

I am on Win10 / Chrome on Spectrum. My guess is a DNS issue but then is the IP for the image host different than the forum.

Nah, it was my own fault, see my post above.

Images are the same IP just on their own disk.

Bobby:

That is a close mirror match, right down to the white spot on the nose.

Toby was delighted to discover he had a Tuxedo friend who was another collector. Asked about a play date, but I had to disappoint him.
