Barham Nsw. Wrong Postcode!

While sorting a few postmarks I came across these from Barham NSW dated 1982.

At first glance nothing special, but the Postcode for Barham is 2732, so why does it show as 2739. If anyone has a reason I would love to know. Was it a mistake? How many more mistakes of this nature are there?

Hi airgem,

Barham changed its postcode from 2739 to 2732 on 1 August 1987.

Plenty of NSW POs had a change of postcode.

Hopson & Tobin's 4 volume set, "NSW & ACT post receiving telegraph & telephone offices" is the reference.

Prior to obtaining a copy for myself I did borrow it on an inter-library loan.
