Is there any market for single precancels with the plate number?

I have separated out maybe a couple of dozen over the past 10 years -- should I just break them up and include them with regular auctions of stamps from their State on ebay? Or make a special set of them?

I know none of them are super-rare or anything, but it would be nice to pass them to someone who cares, if such people exist?

I suppose I have the same question for:

pairs (no plate #)
blocks of 4 (with or without plate #)

Thanks for any insight.

Jan

Hi Jan,
There are collectors of just about anything. I collect used plate number singles, and will mount precancels when I don't have a postally used copy. You are probably better off listing the plate numbers as a group for someone who wants them, rather than mixing them in with a regular lot of precancels. Unless they are part of a complete set or any other reason to keep them together with the single stamps.

Similarly with the pairs and blocks, there are people who collect multiples of precancels who would like those listed together as a group lot. A regular precancel collector may just see a block as one single and 3 duplicates.

The usual overriding factors apply, condition, scarcity, etc.

I would like to see them - especially if they are of the Americana series . . .
