Earlier this month I bought 6 items from the same seller. 4 were OK, but 2 had undisclosed issues. So I filed return requests thru ebay. The seller responded offering partial refunds. The offers were supposed to expire on the 25th. I don't want to own them with issues, but being a procrastinator I didn't respond immediately and then I missed the deadline but in the 26th the system still let me decline the offers. But then ebay doesn't tell me anything about what is next. Do I just send them back at my expense with tracking, or what?

I do not know. It will be interesting to see the reply to this question. As this is not covered in FAQ on ebay. I personally will just keep the stamps if they are not that expensive. I just hate the problems this makes for myself in having to return anything.

PayPal covers your for 6 months, if that is how you paid. Worst case, you could file a claim with PayPal to force a return. I would add that I deal with this problem several times per month and it's maddening. Some problems are obvious and it becomes clear the seller had to know about the issues before listing the stamps for sale.

You have already initiated a return (not as described, I assume?!), and turned down the seller's attempt at a partial refund.

You need do nothing at this point - ebay will notify you of how to proceed.

IMHO, of course.

You have no obligation to accept or decline a seller's adjustment. I think that missing a "deadline" simply means the offer expires. You can request intervention once the three days has passed, offer or no offer.

Have you tried contacting the seller directly to ask the status of your return?

Thank you everyone. Today when I went to my purchase history, picked return details from the drop down, on the return details page there was a message saying I had declined the partial refund offer along with a very subtle link that was either new of I missed before but was exactly what I needed, so I am back on track.
