Anyone sell on Delcampe?

How would you handle a purchaser who wants you to send the item to a different address than the one registered with Delcampe? Can you expect a seller to agree or to rat you out to the management? I don't know if this violates any of their policies. I would ask before I bid.

I was in Arizona when Delcampe cancelled all those US accounts, so I still have an active account. I am now back East but can't switch my address without getting cancelled.

I experimented with just relying on the USPS to forward mail to me but it was a failure. One vendor sent me an R-letter and I had to get a neighbor to retrieve it from the Post Office.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Bill

So... why don't you? Ask the seller or check Delcampe's policies? And then you'd know whether this is something you need to worry about in the first place.

@electroprecancels, you should check out the Delcampe Charter, which can be found here as a PDF-file: http://www.delcampe.net/pdf/charter...n_GB.pdf?v=1

§ 5.5.2 End of sale, If the item is bought: "The contract implies a commitment by the seller to the buyer to: Provide the item, before or after payment, in accordance with the terms and conditions agreed, in the condition described, via the delivery method agreed, to the postal address listed by the buyer on their Delcampe account at the time of purchase (if the buyer uses a payment organisation which provides a guarantee, see Article 16.7). Items must be sent within maximum 14 days of receipt of payment."

§ 3.1 Opening an account: "Users agree to supply, at all times, exact, sincere and complete information, notably at the time of registration and of activation of selling functionality. They also agree to inform Delcampe of any changes in their personal and contact information (address, email address, telephone number, etc.). If any of the information is false, incomplete, obsolete, eccentric or abusive, Delcampe reserves the right to take action against the member as provided for in these general terms and conditions.

§ 16.7 Disclaimer: "The seller must ship the items to the address provided by the buyer on the Delcampe website. It is up to the buyer to change their account address if required. If the buyer requests delivery to another address without updating their account address beforehand, they will be solely responsible for any delivery issues.
Buyers must ensure that their address corresponds to the address provided to the payment organisation if they have a guarantee provided by the organisation, otherwise, they will be responsible for any consequences of the mismatch."

Always check out the seller's individual sales conditions before you make a bid/purchase. They might have written the answer to your question.

Thanks, Baltija.

That pretty much answers my question. I guess it doesn't hurt to ask a seller, though they are only obligated to send to my registered address.

Delcampe seller here - sent stamps a number of times to a different address provided - customer travelling, forgot to update address with DC, send it to a friend, etc...

I've always agreed, imagine most sellers will be the same - with the understanding that as the Delcampe charter says - " If the buyer requests delivery to another address without updating their account address beforehand, they will be solely responsible for any delivery issues."
