I know it can take a while from some countries (I buy from a Lithuanian seller and it averages about 3 weeks), but yesterday was 4 weeks since some stamps shipped from Argentina and I have no idea if that's normal.

I'm going to contact the seller if they don't arrive by tomorrow, just to confirm when she mailed them, but if anyone can give me an idea of normal shipping times, that would be helpful!

Variation in intercontinental shipping time is huge. The main problem for the postal services is the availability of transport. On top of this, you have the unknown factor of a possible hold up in customs.

When I ship from the Netherlands to South America, I reckon with shipping times from 2 weeks till 6 weeks.

Shipments to the USA are faster but it can take between 1 week and 3 weeks.

I always hope that customers will contact me when there is a delay. Normally, I then ask for a two-week extension of the shipping time and I give the promise that I will refund them when the items have not arrived. Most of the time, this is enough to solve the situation.

That's very helpful, thanks. I used to have a lot of (mostly European) foreign penpals so I'm more familiar with postage times to and from there, but I'm completely in the dark when it comes to "normal" for South America!

I think I'll contact her just to confirm she did send them on the 29th of June and not get too worried for another couple of weeks, then.

I recently bought six lots of stamps on ebay from a dealer in Argentina. It took me five and a half weeks to get them. One problem was the dealer took 15 days from the time I paid for them to be mailed. I messaged the dealer if they combine shipping they replyed they did. The cost was $8.00 each. They mail me three envelopes at a cost of $48.00. Luckily the stamps were very cheap and worth the money over all. They were two lots that was not much in them and I may have broke even on them. The other four were cheap enuff that it made up for the other two and the over priced shipping. I did receive my stamps but the wait time was way to long and with no response from the dealer after messaging them. Once I put in a claim with ebay the dealer replyed. They asked me to give it a little longer so I did and they arrived. To say I will not buy from that dealer again. If they would have kept their word and combined shipping cost not just the stamp lots and mail in reasonable time would be different. I am willing to almost say we bought from the same dealer. I will not name them here but read feedback for sure from any dealer from Argentina.

That's too bad. This seller is from Stampworld and has good ratings, so possibly not the same one. Glad that you got your stamps in the end, but not combining shipping is a big "ugh" from me. I recently ordered a few hard-to-find Argentina stamps from a German seller and they didn't combine shipping so I limited myself there.
