I have thousands of empty or almost empty Scott pages and a fair number of Steiner pages. Anyone have suggestions on what to do with them? Thanks for the assistance. Paul

I also have a lot of unused blank Scott pages, and have had trouble finding a place to donate them, along with stamps from all the countries I don't want to collect any longer. The V.A. hospital didn't want them. |

I could use some blank Scott (International) pages, and I like stamps from all countries. I'll pay for shipping if you are willing to ship them. |

"I could use some blank Scott (International) pages, and I like stamps from all countries. I'll pay for shipping if you are willing to ship them." Neither of us is permitted to use email here, and I'm not inclined to have a discussion about this unless it's private, so.... |

Yep, we're second class, oh, well. Maybe in a couple of months. |

No one is a second-class citizen, as has been explained this is a security and safety measure that has been proven to be effective in protecting all parties.
I floated the idea a few years ago in this community about building an online SQL -based album page exchange on Stamp Smarter. It would be free, and folks would work out the exchange (shipping etc.) between themselves. It got only a handful of people supporting the idea so I moved on. Don |

You just need a minimum number of posts to be able to contact another SCF member. I think it is 50, but maybe I'm wrong there. Instituted for good reason to ensure that someone could not simply sign up and spam people or do so under a fake account as Don mentioned above.
When I first joined and found a couple of other folks here that were local (geographically speaking) and we realized we'd like to get together in person and talk stamps/history, we sort of quasi-hijacked a thread to get me to 50 posts so we could contact each other. Shermae above being one of them. Then he took us to this awful stamp club... (Busting your chops Shermae!)
Not suggesting you totally go nuts, but you could up your post count by simply dropping some positive comments on other threads. Even the simple "thanks for sharing" or "nice stamp" works towards that and might make another fellow collector smile with a positive post. |

Note that pumping your post count can get your thread count reset to zero or even banned. Don |

My advice ----- Pull the stamps off the pages and throw pages away
Nobody wants incomplete Scott album pages ,there is no market for them ,the Steiner pages can be done on the wrong thickness paper ,maybe wrong color too Save the stamps and dump everything else , maybe binders can be recycle . |

We are second class in terms of security, as the requirement of 50 posts certainly creates 2 classifications. Yes, I left out "in terms of security" in my prior post, as I felt a little frustrated.
The current criteria is "50 quality posts", as I recall when registering, although I don't see "quality" in the current Rules. My suggestion would be to add an alternative way to qualify, which would be something like 10 quality posts + 4 weeks since registration. That should stop the spammers. Maybe this has already been discussed elsewhere.
Like I said, I'll probably reach 50 in a couple of months, and usually I don't care about buying/selling, so I don't really care for myself. But I know there are at least some others who would like to buy/sell but are bored with reaching 50.
P.S. Please don't count my 2 posts in this thread as quality. I don't want to "back into" success. |

"As we used to say in NYC, "I got yuh Stamp Club rye hee-uh." (pointing south)" Being a former resident of Canarsie, that sounded very familiar to me Btw, my pages are not completely disjointed - most are from the 1960s - I bought a few copies of Scott's Int'l Vol. 5 (with stamps), so they're mostly consecutive, maybe a Vol.4 and Vol.6, too. |

yosclimber, Clearly if you think of yourself as a second class citizen then this community is clearly not for you. If desired, I can lock your account so you will not have to be concerned about being second class. Don |
