Cyprus Refugee Stamp Exhibition

I was surprised to see this article https://cyprus-mail.com/2023/08/22/...pen-in-napa/ considering that it would have been more apt to be held next year but anyhoo, its happening.
The stamp in question: The Cyprus obligatory refugee tax stamp which was introduced in September 1974 subsequent to the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
Probably the most recognisable modern issue of Cyprus with just a few minor changes over the past 49 years; including currency changes and, over the last decade or so, the background colour.





Notable error is 2022 issue with the missing 'K' in the Greek spelling of the country name on the lower left, one copy per sheet. Not sure of the position as my sheet example is in sunny Cyprus. There are a couple of other varieties as listed in the 'Clifford E. Povey Cyprus Stamp Catalogue' published in 1991.

So if any member finds him/herself in Cyprus during this time and wants a bit of philatelic indulgence, Ayia Napa is the place to be, (it also has the most amazing crystal clear sea and the best sandy beaches on the island, and pubs, loads of pubs)
