In my Lighthouse hingeless album page 69.2 there is a stamp (A32 in Scott catalog) with value of 1 ore with the wavy lines. It says it is from 1969-70 and on florescent paper. I can't find anything about this stamp in the Scott catalog or online.

The stamps with these designs were issued on normal paper. Ca. 1969, they were printed on fluorescent paper. Some exist on both papers. Maybe you will find a footnote below the original issues e.g 1947, Scott # 298, or 1962, Scott # 399 and 400. For the 1 ore, you might see if there is a note below the 1933 stamp Scott # 220. http://www.frimindeks.dk/flourescens.htmBe aware that your album is based on Michel listings. Michel does list these stamps. |

NSK is as usual right on: Scott (American) and Lighthouse (German) are not in sync, if you use Lighthouse (as I do), you'll need a Michel catalog (or some other European-based catalog). |

Here is a scan (poor quality) from Michel catalogue for this issue. The stamp you're looking for is # 490 |

Quote: Thanks for your help. I see the note below #220 in Scott, I'll look into getting a Michel catalog for Denmark At present, that is listed in their "Scandinavia" catalogue. I think it used to be in a "Western Europe" catalogue. You might see if you can find an AFA catalogue. There might also be a language issue. |

I would also consider Facit as a very useful catalog for Denmark. Facit also extensively covers Sweden, Norway, Finland, Greenland, and Iceland. |

There are many of the fluorescent paper wavy line definitives listed in Facit. They were issued from 1962-1992. The 1 ore is Facit 98c. Both printings of the 1 ore on ordinary paper were from the 1930's. |

Thanks for that info about Michel 490. I can't find any source to buy it despite numerous online searches including ebay, google, and HIP. Does anyone have info on where this stamp can be bought? |

For a USA source for that stamp, you might want to Google Jay Smith in North Carolina. He will have a high likelihood of offering that stamp for sale. |

This thread really makes me want to separate the stamps I have and figure out where the gaps are. It is a very fruitful series for a specialist and among my favorite definitive designs. |

I have been looking for that stamp as well and was pleased to find this old post. Scott does actually list this stamp in their summary of fluorescent stamps in 1961 after SC381. I can post a picture of the catalog description, if helpful. I'm currently working on finding them all! Minkus' album did a decent job with these until ~1965 and then gets sketchy with spaces for some that aren't real and missing some....
Did you find the 1 ore? |
