So the logic is that he lives on the opposite side of the planet from the primary market for US material and this makes the logistics impossible to get a cert. But it is fine to list a highly questionable rare US stamp without a cert independent from any consideration of buyer recourse logistics.

Good luck indeed.

If I firmly believed that I had a $57,500 stamp that fetches just shy of $20,000 at Siegel auctions I would book a flight to NY from Japan and drop it off. Once I had the certificate (because I KNOW it is real) I would give it to Siegel to auction and make double what I could make on ebay. Easy. OR I could send the stamp to PSE who accept cash, checks and credit cards (ask about wiring funds as well) and accept shipments from Fedex, UPS and DHL. Either way I would get it done because I KNOW that it is genuine. Right? Siegel could wire me the money once the sale is completed.

Based on various factors, I believe that at least some of Ninja's feedback on ebay is manufactured.

Well one can use the information from forum members and correct the descriptions.
Alternatively, one can remove the Ebay-link from one's profile.
