Very interesting to see what the image optimiser has done with the background to the mills.

Again, the image optimiser does not cope to well with lighter background colours. Those lighter colours on the red cross stamps appear solid on the stamps and the original scan.

page A7

The DAVO albums contain pages for special formats like miniature sheets. These pages have A-numbers and were at the back of the album.

From 1965 onwards, the annual Child Welfare issues included a miniature sheet. The committee responsible for these issues distributed folded sheets in an envelope. Unfolded sheets command a premium.

The DAVO album, normaly, does not have spaces for watermark varieties, not even on A-numbered pages. The 1967 Europa stamps were printed on both unwatermarked and watermarked paper. This watermarked paper, also, was phosphorised for a test with letter facer equipment in Rotterdam. The caption only mentions the difference in the watermark.

page A10a

There is no page A9, although page A8 may now be numbered A8-9. Nor did my old album contain a page A10. The old page A11, now, is page A10-11. I do not know why DAVO had these gaps in the numbering of the A-pages.

Presently, DAVO has pages for the 'Amphilex 1967' sheets of 10 stamps that were on sale at the exhibition. My album that is an older version did not have these pages. I do not know whether these pages A10a and A10b are included in the DAVO 'Luxe' Album volume 2, or must be ordered separately. I ordered mine earlier this month. They are from the current range that, according to the inscription at the lower left of the page, dates to 2001.
