The photo previews were not impressive , $250 was about my max bid. I'm tickled with my first Certs ..

The auction venue is a large art, jewelry platform which small regional auctioneers utilize.

You got a great deal for 250$. The Unused 5$ Colombian with og is worth 250 alone. Nice find

Fantastic deal, lucky and congrats. Shame for the consigner that his/her auctioneer did not know the value of the collection and set a higher reserve. It actually happens over and over in the auction world.

Those three for $250 is a nice deal, but not outstanding. All three stamps have issues, two are reperforated and one has small faults. It's still nice; probably they should have brought about $400-$450.

I agree with Rev; might be a pretty decent deal, I think it depends upon how many faults there are in the stamps. The $5 has two notable faults including a replaced perf and a small tear as shown here (and called out on the cert)

Can you post a scan of the reverse on this stamp?

Have you had a chance to go through of them and form an opinion on how many have faults?

The online preview had shown none of these stamps. A Scott #1 plus 2 on page 1 , then just a few modern mint shown. Got quite a few revenue too, so I can run with The Rev !

Ha… you had me hooked for 12 hours, but showing the "85D" suggests that most of this stuff is very damaged when looked at closely. I was intrigued by 2$ trans miss but now that I look closer, looks reperforated and in bad shape.

The designation of two used stamps as "never hinged" doesn't breed confidence!

So what if the 85D & E are mis-IDed? He still got a good deal.
