Exactly. Like there's not any greedy non-APS members out there on HipStamp either.
Probably some of the APS sellers inflate their selling prices by 20% to make up for the APS commission for selling their lots and that helps add to the perception that the APS store has higher prices than other sellers.
I think you'll find reasonably priced and high priced sellers in both places, it's just easier to bookmark your favorite sellers outside of the APS store versus inside.
Like it or not, retail is a competition. Given two virtually identical stamps, most people would buy the one that is cheaper. I am a collector. I am not here to kiss the APS's ass. I am going to go where I get the best stamps at the best deals, period. If the APS wants to EARN my business, and they have to EARN it, not by simply existing but by giving me something that I can't get elsewhere, then they are going to have to do a much better job.
One added benefit to APS users would be a streamline connection to have a stamp get a cert when purchased. Would save on sending it in. That was a feature on the old stampstore and was a good idea.
