Not really. With imperforated stamps, you're looking for four margins clear of the design. I leave it to others to consider whether they're dinkum.

Consider this: stamps were printed in sheets. The sheets were distributed imperforate. There is a narrow margin between all the stamp images in the sheet. The post office clerk has to cut the individual stamps from the sheet.

One clerk uses his scissors in a way that he leaves the design unaffected, cutting between the images.
Another clerk is not so careful and considers that as long as it is recognisable, it is okay.

About 150 years later, a stamp collector has the choice between the two stamps.

Which one would you pick if you have to pay the same price for either stamp?

You decide what is okay for your collection. But if you want to sell, consider the other stamp collector is a 'typical' one.

Stamp collectors are a picky, snobbish lot. That pickiness and snobishness increases exponentionally with the level of specialisation.
