*** Moved by Staff to a more appropriate forum. ***Hello guys. I have a series of nine stamps in different denominations. One only shown here. They are supposed to be Latvian occupation by Russia in 1928 but I can't find them in Latvia or Russia. I would appreciate any help. Thanks Geoff

I have never heard of the Soviet union invading Latvia before 1940. Google invasion of Latvia and it only mentions 1940, the nazi invasion of 1941 then the reoccupation of Latvia in 1944/5. British forces invaded the area tht became Latvia in 1918/19 effectively allowing the establishment of a country called Latvia.I don't collect Russian or Soviet stamps but that stamp looks to have a Russian Tsarist Eagle on it.

Yes, I got the "Russian occupation " from an ebay ad for these stamps, Although the way it read it sounded like it was a Latvian occupation. Nevertheless, I see lots of offers to sell these "1928 Latvian stamps" around the web but they are not in my Stamp Database, nor are they in the an online DB I sometimes use. I'd like to find a home for them in my collection. Thanks for any help. Geoff
