I would like to show you some pages from my collection of Japanese stamps...they are really beautiful stamps for me, the most beautiful I have, not only because they are all Mint, but because of everything they awaken in me when I see them...I don't care about variations , colors, value, grade, catalog or anything... I love many types of stamps, the USA classics for all the deep study in their universe and the history of the nascent US that they are impregnated; the UK stamps especially the Machin ones that They can drive you crazy; or the beautiful stamps of Saint Pierre and Miquelon which I adore when I see, them among others....but I have no words for the Japanese stamp...I don't even have the need to study it (also because I know something about the Japanese Ukiyo-e painters and engravers)..I just catalog it quickly and I'm just happy to see them so beautiful...I'm sorry for the photos, I would like to photograph them one by one in detail in better quality, but I still hope you love them so much like me...

Observe this beauty in detail... I am crazy about classical Japan but even more crazy about its intermediate phase between the modern and the ancient, which even today, this strange and admirable society still preserves... a culture of great contrasts where the death can mean life in all its intensity, and on the contrary, life a terrible and agonizing burden... the beauty of a tear of sorrow.
I think these series describe very well the contrast of the new and the old, forming a 1 of great beauty...

I have a small pre 1940 Japan collection but Mrs DLR has some lovely modern material.

They are among the most beautiful stamps ever made
