Loved the image you posted of the PBP. I'm sure you've been aware of the history, and that it is thought that Ashbrook meant PBP to be ruby pink, like the pigeon blood ruby, and not bluish pink.
There are a lot of PBP's that are actually carmine pink or lavender pink that have been certified as PBP, but since Ashbrook's reference collection has never been found or made public, these will always be PBP, and maybe incorrectly.
Yours looks like (at least on my monitor, and we know what that's worth) an absolutely lavender pink. Jack Daley sold one on
ebay about 10 years ago with a Freyburg, ME cancel on it that was even more blue, but yours is a beautiful stamp. I'd love to have a lavender one of these days....and the chase is still on!
