Welcome.

You posted in another thread you have none of the measuring devices mentioned. You might, at least, want to make an effort to measure the perforations of your stamp before posting pictures. Although some stamps allow for identifying the perforation gauge from a picture, it tends to be an important piece of information that must be measured and provided.

Welcome Jen. An image or two for discussion would be quite acceptable. Try to use a scanner if at all possible. Photos tend to lack detail.

I don't have a scanner nor measuring tools. Perhaps I can use a high resolution camera with tripod to post stamps for a start.

Check on line to see if there are any stamp dealers near you to have them review your material.

Edit: The proper forum for your questions is "Have You inherited Some Stamps? Start Here." You can find it by clicking at the left of the page under Navigation, the Stamp Forum button then scroll through the returns, it will appear.

jenbain,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Wishing you many enjoyable future days in our hobby. Russ
