Hi all.

I recently acquired these GB 5d Registered Envelopes with olive green embossed stamp. I believe they were produced for use only in the New Irish Free State.

I have seen the earlier 1922 emerald green version offered for sale, but never these ones.

The only catalogue reference I can find is in the MacDonnell Whyte Stamps of Ireland Specialised Handbook 1991 edition, where they were catalogued at £340 (€400) each. I don't know if that is a realistic valuation today.

Could any of our Ireland experts shed some light on these, as well as a realistic valuation as I will probably swap/sell to buy items for my collection.

The 1922 size K one: https://ssl.webpack.de/hibernian-ne...ucts_id=1686
dito, H: https://ssl.webpack.de/hibernian-ne...ucts_id=1687
K again: https://ssl.webpack.de/hibernian-ne...ucts_id=1685

But not the 1923 with size letter, as you wrote.
Maybe, Roy would be interested in buying your examples.

Note that the rules prevent buying or selling with less than 50 quality posts. Nice items, though.

I doubt OP is expecting to swap or sell on this site. OP's profile suggests OP lives in Éire where there will be a good market for these items.

My apologies if I have caused some confusion.
It is not my intention to offer these items for sale/swap on this forum, but to do so here in Ireland.
My problem is that the only items I have seen offered are the earlier emerald green versions so I have no guide as to there true worth except for the mention in the 1991 catalogue.

Based on the prices Roy Hamilton-Bowen is asking for the 2022 versions without size letters, the catalogue values you posted, at least for that version, do not seem far off. They may be slightly below what a catalogue, now, might list.

You could contact Roy at Hibernian / Rodgau Philatelie: http://hibernian-news.eu/
He might give you some guidance or even make you an offer.

Thanks to everyone for their input.
Hopefully Roy will give me some insight in value.
I would prefer them to go to someone who had an interest in them, rather than just sitting in a box.
