I have a couple of the 1712-15 plate blocks with the color red missing . I have had them for several years , waiting for Scott to assign some value . To date they have ignored this / or are they aware of this ? Could these be so rare that Scott has never heard of them ?

Cebu, welcome to the forum. In order to give you an answer we'd have to see a picture.

Send one block to the Philatelic Foundation for certification.
If it comes back as genuine, Scott will have no other choice than to recognize the error.
My initial guess is the cert will come back as "Color changeling".

pcerio, some folks are so young they feel like 1970's stamps are classic!
Come to think of it, the postal rates were still classic back then!

If Scott lists the variety without a price ("--") they are aware of its existence. If they do not list the variety, then they do not know about the variety.

For Color missing errors, APEX is better for Certification that the PF.
