New Member Says HI To The Forum

Hi. Just joined this forum which looks very interesting. I am a specialist in the stamps of WWII Croatia (Nezavisna Drzava Hrvatska or NDH). My particular interests are revenues, censor markings, and concentration camp mail. I also have a large collection of all NDH issues including full panes for most of the issues. In order to concentrate on my specific interests, I have been selling most of the general collection of NDH; so, if anyone needs something in that area, please contact me. I am also very interested in general conversations with collectors of this area. Phil

You should be aware that selling/trading, even contacting other members is not possible before you reach 50 quality posts. Start or reply to some topics with your own thoughts, and you'll get there sooner than you think.

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences.

My personal bias is a used stamp loses the story of its journey in the postal service when it is removed from the cover it transported to its destination. Collecting postal history adds a whole new aspect to your journey in our hobby.

Thanks hoosierboy. I totally agree about the importance of postal history. Since I collect an area associated with WWII, the history in the posted items can be fascinating. I especially like censor markings on mail, and sometimes I find a real rarity. Shown below is an extremely rare Zagreb local marking on a preprinted reply card sent to the concentration camp Stara Gradiska. Items like this make me really enjoy collecting, particularly when you research the item to find out even more. Phil
