Hi all. UK based, here. I did post last year on his here forum; however, life events have happened. Plus I now have a phone that can better capture my stamps. I have a relatively small collection, of just around 1200 stamps. The general theme, as almost all are hinged, is The Commonwealth, so they book is indexed by many 'old commonwealth' countries which are now obviously not named in the same way! But they are from across the world, as far and wide as Ukraine, Japan and Venezuela, almost all pre WW2 , some dating from the 1800s.
I am in the position of having to sell them unfortunately. So I understand the basics, but apart from sending off to a collector, just in case some may stick out for whatever reason, I would potentially like some advice on selling them individually. Having looked some of them up and seen the odd one go for, say £15-20 and for example, a set of six mint ultramarine unused 1951 10s, which I think have gone for £40-60? I guess they can all add up!
For some reason I E-Bay won't give me an account and it's impossible for hem to tell me why. I have only had one account with them but many years back. So I am wondering if there are any other outlets I am more unaware of?
Also does anybody sell stamps individually, can give me any advice.
I realise this is a longish post, any help appreciated. I will add some pics later today!
Thanks, and have a nice day.

There are alternative platforms - Delcampe in mainland Europe, for example - but ebay will give you far more viewers. Can you get a relative or a friend to lisy them for you? |

Delcampe (since you are in Europe), maybe Hipstamp (which I find the biggest garbage bin there is on the web). But indeed, for GB & Commonwealth, ebay is your best option. |

Thanks, I haven't heard of Delcampe at all, I have heard of Hipstamp but it sounds a bit of a negative experience. I do know people with e-bay accounts, just that it's not practicable to do it through them. I have seen people selling on Etsy but my instinct is that's not the best place |

Personally while I agree there are a lot of cheap and damaged stamps on Hipstamp, I love it (4,000+ transactions later). |

Quote: a set of six mint ultramarine unused 1951 10s Catalogued at £15 unmounted mint, six of them may be offered at £ 60, but they should not generate more than £ 30 - £ 40 if there is a collector who wants six of them. If it is a dealer, £ 30 would be tops. Unused, i.e., mounted, they should not cost more than £ 20. |

Yeah I get that, sometimes when I look at e-bay etc I don't always see what they have actually gone for. HipStamp being US based I guess would mean US postage and that feels a lot of work for individual stamps or small sets. I am to upload some of my stamps this evening! |

Hipstamp is international. Mark Bloxham, a major British dealer is on Hipstamp. He ships from the UK. My biggest objection to Hipstamp, other than the eternal spam once you created an account is there is a lot of garbage listed on it. If you want to sell through that platform, your listing may be buried in a heap of this garbage. Not everything offered on ebay and Delcampe is of high quality, but in my experience, I do not have to dig so deep to find a good stamp as I have to do on Hipstamp. |

Sorry can someone just help me with uploading some images? I am typing this on my laptop, but on my mobile, where I have my images, I go to 'upload' and the images appear. But the instructions say to 'click save images and a green arrow will appear..'. However, I can't see where 'save images' button is. What am I doing wrong? |

Where the red arrow points at It is in the 'image optimizer.' It sounds like you are uploading images directly. If the file size is 300 kb or less, it can be done. You do not need to save the images. If the file is of bigger size, the optimiser creates a smaller file that you have to save. Therafter, you can upload it. |

It should have been saved to your downloads folder. It is recognisable by the '-scfopt' added to the file name. Click 'Upload Image,' select that file and upload to your post. |
