Please, implement a functionality that allows for reporting spam messages that will block the member posting the spam message once, until vetted by staff.

Several new members were able to post dozens of (the same) spam messages for hours this morning.

Thank you, NSK for reporting them. Once you report a repeat offender, we will delete that account and delete all his posts.

For future reference, you don't need to REPLY to every spammer -- save yourself some time.

You're a good citizen here -- thanks !

I'm aware, and I think you replied to every single one of them. All that does it make a ton more work for the staff and helps the spammers get more exposure.

I already spend $60 a month on an API that thwarts 98% of spammers. I've spent hundreds of hours building spam traps that block 98% of the 2% that mages gets registered.

Between the coin forum and here, there are about 4,000 spammer registration attempts a day that get thwarted and about 10,000 hack attempts a day.

I think I do a pretty dam good job.

You probably do.

My suggestion was to add a functionality that allows to put a break on those spammers that manage to circumvent the traps when they are new and spam. This would allow staff to check whether they are spammers before allowing them to post more.

As for the replies. Some time ago, staff complained about the many reports of each spam, Therefore, I let others know the spam has been reported already. Someone seeing spam nr. 80, will not see the message in spam nr. 1.

Thanks for the job you do. When I saw them, I figured they'd be gone eventually. I'm one of the admins for a group on FB and have to remember the other time zones. The UK is my time +6, Europe +7 or +8, and Oz east coast +16.

Thanks for everything you do to keep this community going. Note to others: Just use the SEND NOTE TO STAFF that is visible on every comment, instead of replying to the spammers. Really fast and easy to report Spam.

Here's why I don't want people to reply.

1. The spammers couldn't possibly care less what you say, they won't even look.
2. It bumps it back to the top, which helps the spammer.
3. When there's a massive attack, it's easier for me to go to the topics table in the DB, sort by topic ID descending, and just go down and check them off and hit delete. If there are no replies I'm now done. If there are replies, now I have to go to the replies table and do the same thing again.
