I've inherited my Dad's stamps and wanting to sell them on. He had a bit of a fixation with Guernsey stamps, like mint and first day of issue stamps. While he was collecting he seems to have bought everything they produced - he had an order with the Guernsey post office.

Do these stamps have any value? Most are in special presentation packs.

Hello. I'm afraid that supply of these is extensive, and prices low. An exception would be the WWII occupation issues. Perhaps best to sell in bundles on ebay, giving details of their (decimal) face value.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at sold items on ebay and as you say prices are very low indeed. Looks like my Dad gambled on the wrong horse.

Please send me a PM if interested otherwise these may go to charity.

You can't sell on here until you have fifty posts. Worth putting them on ebay.

You have to put yourself in your Dad's shoes. I'm sure he enjoyed collecting them and was always happy to see the new issues. A good monetary investment ... No. But he probably enjoyed them nonetheless. Your job is just to make sure that they find a good home and, at least, recover your costs in disposing of them. If you get to 50 posts in the community, you may find some people interested in helping you.

AtThe smaller auctions I attend in the UK the silence is deafening when they offer collections from the Channel islands. Pre 1969 stamps by themselves sometimes get a purchaser.
