Hello,

I have this US 1c Benjamin Franklin stamp from 1861 and I am not able to recognize stamp on it despite I tried really hard googling it. Any ideas from where this stamp is? Could it be sent to Alaska before US purchase in 1867?

Best regards,

Looks like a US Scott #63 with a fairly common circular grid cancel. You'd have a hard time convincing anyone it spent any time in Alaska without any other documenting evidence like the cover that it came from. That type of cancelation was used in quite a few cities all across the continental US.
