Hi, I got a stamp album as a gift, I don't know the person who collected these stamps at all. The album contains stamps from the period 1870-1950. My problem is that I have no idea how to properly arrange the stamps in the album, because now they are in disarray, there are several pieces placed one behind the other or spread out next to each other, maybe buy a second album and transfer some to it... I'm posting photos of how it looks, and these are just some of the photos

Bandi, welcome to this forum, and you got me green with envy already! No one ever gave me a collection like that.
if I was in your shoes ( and your country ) I would look for a stamp club in the area and find a person who is willing to help you sort things out.
By the way, what you have is a stockbook, not an album

Peter

Wonderful the way they are. A stock book filled with duplicates with an array of different cancels to study. It's time to study and learn. ebay, Delcampe, HipStamp, catalogues, stamp club and ask on SCF. Totally enjoy!

As others have said this is not an album but a stock book. Stock books are used to store the duplicates and in order to save space the stamps are quite often placed partially over the preceding stamp. So the placement as you show on the pages is quite normal.

This is a very nice collection covering various areas and it would probably be best to obtain a Michel Deutschland Band I catalogue if you want to identify and organize the stamps in either another stock book or a Germany album for the period.

Bandi I would heartily agree with what the other guys say. a michel catalogue would appear to be the obvious thing to get. unless you are actively trying to collect every new stamp as it appears a used copy of the catalogue is usually adequate. ask apparently stupid questions. there are lots of things you need to know and learn. Lots of people on this site are happy to help, if they don't want to help they don't bother replying.
