Hello.

Do you know if there's a websie or any ressources which would list the postal rate per country and date ?

For example, it would tell, in 1964, the domestic flat rate for a letter in Bolivia was X bs.

It could be useful for cover collector, but I can't find a global ressource.

Thanks

There is no such resource for the world.

Compilations exist (mostly printed books or pamphlets) for individual countries.

Some digital compilations are available. I do not have a list.

Postage rates and fees can be complicated, especially those from the early decades of airmail.

This would be easily discernible by the denomination of the stamps issued at the time. The most common denomination would be the letter rate.

As for (as an example) the airmail rate in 1956 for a letter from Bolivia to Fiji (or any country you like), you'd have to be a specialist in the postal history of Bolivia.

Postal history is such a massive field that you just can't be a specialist in every country. To bring all that information together would be a multi-volume production. The lack of demand would kill any prospective financial undertaking.

I'd hate to imagine constructing something like that, bearing in mind also the frequency of rate changes and creation of new pricing sub-divisions in later years. As an example, the UK now has five types of air-mail (standard, tracked etc) and six groups of countries (including one just for the US since it hiked certain of its delivery rates) for each type.

For a simpler time, Maury's French colonial catalogues give indications of rates.

Yes, it would be an enormous work, and I must admit that no one would get any money for it. But I have saw enough people devoting time and money just for the satisfaction of sharing knowledge that it would have been possible to find this kind of information.

Too bad that's not the case.

Thanks for your answers
