Is the value of the stamps in stampworld.com accurate?
Of course, proper catalog like Scott would be more accurate (I guess) but they are so expensive!
Thank you

Sylvain

No ,the value is not correct . Same with Scott values is not correct .

They value is determine by the person who got money in his hand and willing to buy it .

We got a lot of experts in the stamp community who know a lot but they are not buyers . The person sitting in a office in New York City who prints catalogs and fixes prices also is not a buyer or putting out buy offers .

So everybody is a expert on pricing of stamps but they didn't buy anything . You need a willing buyer to determine the real price .

The one addendum to floortrader's comment is that the the buyer only determines the price for that one particular stamp, and not subsequent. You have to match a buyer up to each individual stamp to achieve actual price discovery. One person willing to overpay to complete a set may not represent overall demand. Also no 2 stamps are alike.

You can find what "real buyers" will pay by looking at auction house sales, or ebay. Catalog "values" generally purport to represent only the best (or "fine") specimens. ITRW, value is all over the place because condition and quality is all over the place. But researching ebay's "sold" listings can give you a much better lay of the landscape for valuing what you have in your collection than catalog values.
