Hello, please advise. I have stamp 146. Is it a fake or is it a genuine double print? The perforation is 12 and it is flawless and has no grill. Are these stamps often counterfeited? Ji#345;í
IMO it is not 147 but a later soft paper stamp. In any case it is not "double printed' but just poorly printed with an excess of ink and/ or bad plate preparation.
if it was double printed then you would be able to see at least in some areas doubling of the engraved lines. this stamp is just blurry from the reasons that the others have mentioned.
The stamp is not a 207. The vignette frame lines are not narrow enough for 207, nor does it show a clear underscore line below the TS of "CENTS" . On soft paper this is a #184 but in a bluish green shade (or so it appears on my monitor).
Careful handling advised, since it looks like it could be rather brittle.
Hello, I don't want to start a new topic. I bought a stamp because I liked it and I don't know what type it is. Please, does anyone know why the 10 cent overprint was created?
