Hello everyone ! I would like to know the value of my entire collection for now and I wonder if it's possible to value it only with pictures ? It's not necessary to know the exact value, but just approximately. I know that the answer is probably "no, that's impossible" but I still ask, we never know ! Thanks, CS

Sales value? Assume 5 cents each stamp or less. Show us SCANS of the better items for a very rough gauge. |

I don't have a really good scanner for now, but do you think that a scanner from a printer is still correct ? |

Some printers have built-in scanners. That should work for now. Be sure to align your scans and crop them close. |

How many items (stamps and/or covers) are you talking about? Do you know what you paid for them? As Partime said, assume the minimum unless you absolutely know otherwise. Keep in mind that it is impossible to know condition without items in-hand (Thins and so on). Any offer you would ever get from a buyer looking at photos, much like not viewing a large auction lot, will be very conservative. |

Auction estimates in the UK run at 10-20% of SG CV for most items. Most modern FDCs will be of very low value, while mint postage will run about 40-50% of face.
Unless you're going to sell, or need a figure for insurance, what's the point? |

My intention is not to sell my collection. I just wanted to know approximately the total value. I'll try to scan them probably tomorrow and I'll send you the scans. I'll try to tell you approximately the value of some stamps I have in my collection approximately, but I don't know the value of all of them, I just don't remember how much I paid for them. |

Quote: I need a figure for insurance, and I'm also just curious. No offense, but this makes no sense at all. You have the stamps and access to the internet including ebay "sold" results but you need us to look at pictures of what you have? |

Why would I need to look at ebay sold ? I didn't buy them on ebay and I think that experts opinion is way more useful. If I look how they sell the same issue of one of my stamps, that not necessary means that mine have this value, because it's not the same, in the same condition, and all that. |

Quote: I need a figure for insurance, ... Then you need to ask your agent, whether you are looking to insure for cost recovery, retail value, current replacement value, etc. No quantity of images or replies here will be a substitute for your agent's answer. |

Yes, but that would be still useful to check the value with philatelists, because these agents are not philatelists |
