The stamp is an international rate from 2008 about Austrian Airlines.

If you happen to take a short flight on Austrian Airlines, you get a little snack box. The lid of the snack box is a piece of postal stationary - you can write a note on the post card and give it to the flight attendant. Free mail with your tasty snack!

I sent one to my girlfriend - she's out of town for a while, I'm not sure if she uses her scanner anyway. I dug around and found a Moldovan site (!) with a small photo - snack box open on the left showing the address side of the post card with the little stamp design, snack box closed on the right showing the picture side of the post card. I've seen the used card I sent to her, it didn't have any extra franking on it that I recall but the card isn't listed in my 2008 Michel Austria specialized (I wonder if it's in the current edition?).

Ryan

Yes nice pic, but,
as an aerophobia sufferer,
I am already looking for the escape hatch,
and feeling sweaty.

I could have sworn that was a bird the other day. It's a bird, it's a plane . . .

What the stamp looks like when the bar is scratched off:

From : http://veedeesstamps.blogspot.com/2...archive.html . . scroll down to Austria.

I have bought other items from the same seller so now I have three of these stamps, still on cover, all with socked on the nose cancels, all unscratched. I have hidden them away to resist the temptation to scratch them. Sometimes I wake up sweating in the night with my fingers curled in scratch position.
