I ran into this document. I guess I have no obvious reason to doubt things but would this be the correct tax? It is a Warranty(?) document.

Payment was $16,250.00 for assuming real estate lots? The cursive is kind of difficult to read but I see mention of "Lot 73, Lot 72, and a portion of Lot 71.

The date on the pair does match the document of 4/29/1863

Can't get the entire document on the scanner and I don't want to tear it but a portion of the front

It is a warranty deed for the sale (conveyance) of real property - taxed $20 as a conveyance over $10,000 to $20,000. Rates changed 8/1/1864

After August 1, 1864 the rate was 50˘ per $500 or fraction thereof, so the tax would have been $16.50

TY. So, would this be considered a "matching document" (think that is the proper term)?

Mike Mahler sets the deadline for Early Matching Uses (EMU) as June 30, 1863, so yes it would be an EMU
