Hi all , im a new lover of stamps more precisly old one. But the last lot if bought one of them seem having 2 kind of paper for printing the same stamps. Ils it à error or is it usual or something else ? Thx in advance
It looks like a selvage fold over stuck to the back of your mint stamp. You may be able to carefully pull them apart, but soaking may be your only option.
The first image appears to show a nice stamp. The second photo shows what appears to be an og stamp with a hinge remnant and problem. The backlighting confirms either rebacking or adherence to another stamp. Weather deliberate or accidental cannot be determined except by a direct examination, but I suspect the latter to cover a thin.
It is a full gummed, possibly regummed stamp, now disturbed by hinges and paper adhesion. Definetly 3/4 the back of the stamp has paper stuck to the backside of it. Since it is straight edged and the other perf end matches identically to the bottom perfs, I would suggest that it is the selvedge from the bottom of the stamp pane folded back onto the stamp itself. And apparently hinged at least twice by evidence of hinge remnants. Also on the front, there are apparantly small ink/paper pulls from the face of it caused by adhesion with another stamp and the white spots were created when seperated.
