Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out to the community because I've found what appears to be a very unusual postal cancellation or marking, and after searching the internet extensively, I haven't found a single matching example.

The stamp shows a portrait that resembles King Haakon VII (Norway), and it has a bold handstamp in black ink that says:

MOT SULT

This is a part of a slogan machine cancel. The words "Mot sult" means "Against starvation" and the cancel was probably used 1963 in connection with the international campaign agianst hunger. The king is Olav V.

I wonder if the original poster (OP) is the ebay seller as well? Why else would a new member post such an "unusual" and obviously overpriced item without mentioned he found it on ebay?

Since he is in Sweden, I wonder how he is going to ship it by USPS Priority Express Mail?

No sales yet, either; makes you wonder why?

I vote we cancel this user account.
This is obviously not a collector, and he doesn't even understand our replies when we were trying to help.

He obviously does not know or care about the difference between a "machine cancel" and an overprint.

Do we need this ?

Let's realize that some new users are curious and willing to work with this community. Other new users try to use this community to reinforce their assumptions about some stamps. A very small percentage of those try to make a profit by offering their obvious normal, low value stamps for sale at ridiculous prices. Let's see where the OP fits in with future posts by them.

I locked him. He sent a barrage of notes to the Staff, trying to defend himself, I guess.
