It has come to my attention the Stanley Piller had written an article as to how to distinguish no grill pictorials from the 1875 reissues. I have googled this but nothing comes up. Can anyone tell me the source for this article?

Some values are easier to tell than others. For example, the one cent was printed using a new plate and is a darker shade. So it really jumps at you. The paper is different as well. As usual, direct comparisons are the best way. All the special printings have sharp impressions. Used examples always have registry cancels; they were all sent by dealers to people who knew they were coming.
